About me!

My name is Jay Villalobos, known online as J.MP4 and I'm a filmmaker/video artist based in Chicago, Illionis. I primaly focus on expirmental films with a heavy emphasis on lo-fi digital asethetics. I want to explore brand new ways of creating film by embracing the digital tools avivable to us. I want to explore a new form of cinema by treating the post process as a video file as opposed to a traditional film. In which digital asethetics that have not been fuly explored yet may be embraced. I also seek different digital textures which is why my work focuses on filming on mini-DV, mini DVD, and Hi-8 handycams. I also create narrative work with all of my experimental skills and processes in mind. Thank you for reading.
